Publication Templates
Publications use templates as the content of messages sent. For your template to have access to all the publication specific merge fields, you need to associate the template with "All Subscriptions" This is especially important for the one click unsubscribe URL that is generated. This uses a merge field that generates a unique URL for each subscriber.
It is also recommended that you reuse templates for publications. When message is sent, a copy is saved independent of the template. This allows you to see the history of the publication but only have one template to adjust.
- Navigate to your template
- Edit your template and set the Pertains To Page to "All Subscriptions"
- Save your template. Now when using your template, you will find it listed in the All Subscriptions category. Your template will now have access to the publication specific merge fields.
Unsubscribe Links
Using the above settings allows publications sent in MP to create a unique unsubscribe link for each user. This will allow them a one-click unsubscribe method. To use this, you need to create hyperlinked text that uses a specific URL. This URL contains merge tags that will be replaced by MP when sent.
Required URL: https://northway.org/account/unsubscribe/?cg=[Contact_GUID]&pubid=[Publication_ID]
While testing this URL, you might unsubscribe yourself of someone else. To resubscribe, use the Undo button or edit their subscriptions from their Contact record.
